R. Dov Berish Weidenfeld (1881-1965), known as the Tchbeiner Rav, was the son of R. Yaakov of Rimalov (Kochav MiYaakov). He was famous from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with great diligence. Renowned throughout Galicia and Poland, in 1923 he was appointed as Rav in Tchebin. There he established a Yeshiva which attracted exceptionally talented Bochurim. After the passing of R. Meir Schapiro (1933), he joined the rabbinical board of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva, together with R. Tzvi Aryeh Frommer of Kozhliekov and R. Moshenu of Boyan. During the Holocaust, he was exiled to Siberia then Bukhara, reaching Yerusholayim in 1946, where he founded the Kochav MiYaakov Tchebin Yeshiva. He was held in awe by his rabbinical contemporaries as well as by the masses. R. Aaron of Belz would refer Halachic questions to him. On his first Shavuos in Yerusholayim, he went to daven in the Beis Midrash of the Imrei Emes of Ger, who declared upon seeing him “Today we shall honor the Torah itself with the reading of the Ten Commandments”.

מכתב אוטוגרפי שכתב הטשעבינער’ רב בשם ר’ חהושע נחום רבינוביץ “בנו של הגאון הצדיק מראדומסק, ונכדו של הגאון הצדיק יסוד עולם המפורסם, בעל הספר תפארת שלמה…” הוא חתום בברכות לבביות.
ר’ דוב בעריש וידנפלד (תרמ”א-תשכ”ה 1881-1965), הידוע בכינויו “הטשעבינער רב”, היה בנו של ר’ יעקב
מרימלוב (כוכב מיעקב). הוא התפרסם מגיל צעיר במוחו המבריק ובהתמדתו העצומה. נודע ברחבי גליציה ופולין והתמנה בשנת תרפ”ג (1923) לרב בטשעבין. הוא הקים ישיבה במקום שמשכה אליה בחורים מוכשרים במיוחד. לאחר פטירתו של ר’ מאיר שפירא (תרצ”ג-1933) הוא הצטרף להנהלה הרוחנית של ישיבת חכמי לובלין יחד עם ר’ צבי אריה פרומר מקוז’ליקוב ור’ מויש’ניו מבויאן. במהלך השואה הוא הוגלה לסיביר ואחר כך לבוכרה. הוא עלה לירושלים בשנת תש”ו (1946), שם הקים את ישיבת “כוכב מיעקב – טשעבין”. הרבנים בתקופתו העריצו אותו במידה העצומה, כמו גם המון העם. ר’ אהרן מבעלזא היה מפנה אליו שאלות הלכתיות. בחג השבועות הראשון לשהותו בירושלים הלך להתפלל בבית מדרשו של ה”אמרי אמת” מגור, וכשראה אותו הרבי, הכריז: “היום נכבד את התורה עצמה בקריאת עשרת הדיברות”.
