R. Avrohom Shmuel Binyomin Spitzer (1872-1934), was born in Hungary shortly after the passing of the Ksav Sofer and studied in the Pressburg Yeshiva under the Shevet Sofer. He served as Rav in Halash and Mishkoltz before becoming Rav of Hamburg, Germany in 1910. He was one of the leaders of Agudas Yisroel in Germany and was respected by many Gedolim of his time including the Chofetz Chaim and R. Chaim Ozer Grodzensky.

ר’ אברהם שמואל בנימים שפיצר (תרל”ב- תרצ”ד, 1872-1934), נולד בהונגריה זמן קצר אחרי פטירת הכתב סופר. למד בישיבת פרשבורג אצל השבט סופר. כיהן כרב בהאלש ובמישקולץ עד שבתר”ע 1910 נתמנה לרבה של המבורג שבגרמניה. היה ממנהיגי אגודת ישראל בגרמניה וזכה לכבוד והערצה מרבים מגדולי תקופתו, ביניהם החפץ חיים ור’ חיים עוזר גרוז’ינסקי.
