Letter by R. Shmuel Dovid Walkin, (written on his father’s letterhead) to the Va’ad HaYeshivos of Vilna, pleading for financial assistance for the residents of Pinsk.
R. Shmuel Dovid Walkin (1890-1979) was a son of R. Aharon Walkin. He learned in the Yeshivos of Mir, Slabodka and Radin. He married the granddaughter of R. Moshe Landinski and served as Rav in Lukatch. At the outbreak of the War he joined the Mir Yeshiva on their journey to Shanghai before immigrating to the United States where he eventually served as a Rav in Queens.

ר’ שמואל דוד וואלקין (תר”נ-תשל”ט), היה בנו של ר’ אהרן וואלקין. למד בישיבות מיר סלבודקא וראדין. נישא לנכדת ר’ משה לנדינסקי וכיהן כרב בלוקאץ. עם פרוץ השואה הצטרף לישיבת מיר בדרכה לשנחאי עד שעקר לארצות הברית אשר לימים כיהן בה כרב בקווינס.
