Autograph letter by R. Eliezer Rabinowitz of Minsk to R. Avrohom Yitzchok Ha’Cohen Kook. Apparently, R. Kook had asked him to enquire into the situation of two brothers in Minsk, whose parents were in Yerusholayim. R. Rabinowitz responds here with his findings.
R. Eliezer Rabinowitz (1859-1924), learned in the Slutzk Yeshiva under the Beis HaLevy and then went on to learn in the Volozhin Yeshiva. In 1879, he married the daughter of R. Yeruchum Perlman (the Minsker Godol). In 1880 was appointed Rav of Smilowitz. Following the passing of his father-in-law in 1896, he succeeded him as Rav of Minsk where he served until his passing.

מכתב אוטוגרפי שכתב ר’ אליעזר רבינוביץ ממינסק לר’ אברהם יצחק הכהן קוק. ככל הנראה ביקש ממנו הרב קוק לברר אודות מצבם של שני אחים ממינסק, אשר הוריהם היו בירושלים. הר’ רבינוביץ כותב את ממצאיו במכתב זה.
ר’ אליעזר רבינוביץ (תרי”ט- תרפ”ד, 1859-1924), למד בישיבת סלוצק אצל הבית הלוי ולאחר מכן עבר ללמוד בישיבת וולוז’ין. בשנת תרל”ט 1879 נישא לבתו של ר’ ירוחם פרלמן (הגדול ממינסק). נתמנה לרבה של שמילוביץ בשנת תר”מ 1880, ובתרנ”ו 1896, עם פטירת חמיו, ירש את מקומו כרבה של מינסק. בתפקיד זה נשאר עד פטירתו.
