Document approving the sending of a divorce through a messenger signed by R. Eliezer Moshe Horowitz, Rav of Pinsk.
R. Eliezer (Lazer) Moshe Horowitz (1817-1890) was born in Tzrikov, a suburb of Mohilov, and initially studied under R. Aryeh Leib Shapiro of Kovno, before going on to study independently. In 1860, he was chosen to serve as Rav of the great city of Pinsk, based on the recommendation of the previous Rav, R. Mordechai Zakheim. One of the greatest Talmidei Chachomim of his era, he was held in great awe by both his rabbinical contemporaries as well as the masses. He is well known for his glosses which were published at the back of the Vilna edition of the Talmud, as well as the sefer Ohel Moshe.

ר’ אליעזר (לייזר) משה הורוויץ (תקע”ז-תר”נ 1817-1890) נולד בצריקוב, מחוז במוהילוב. בתחילה הוא למד אצל ר’ אריה לייב שפירא מקובנה ובהמשך למד באופן עצמאי. בשנת תר”כ (1860) הוא נבחר לשמש כרב העיר הגדולה פינסק על פי המלצה של הרב המקומי הקודם, ר’ מרדכי זקהיים. הוא היה מגדולי תלמידי החכמים בדורו, והוערך מאוד על ידי עמיתיו הרבנים והמון העם כאחד. התפרסם בזכות הערותיו שהודפסו בסוף מהדורת וילנא של הש”ס, וכן בזכות ספרו “אהל משה”.
