Rare early autograph letter by R. Yechezkel Abramsky concerning a separated couple. R. Abramsky urges the recipient, to prevail upon the husband to perhaps reconsider and restore martial harmony instead of resorting to a Get.
This early letter was written shortly after R. Abramsky’s arrival to London from Russia when he served as Rav of the Machzike HaDass community of London, before his appointment to The London Beis Din.
R. Yechezkel Abramsky (1886-1976), was a talmid of Yeshivos Telz, Mir and Slabodka, and learned under R. Chaim of Brisk. World famous as a renowned Gaon, he served as Rav of Slutzk, Rosh Beth Din in London and then settled in Eretz Yisroel, where he was Rosh Yeshiva of the Slabodka Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. Author of Chazon Yechezkel on the Tosefta.

מכתב אוטוגרפי קדום מאת ר’ יחזקאל אברמסקי בעניין זוג פרוד. ר’ יחזקאל מפציר בנמען כי ישכנע את הבעל אולי ישקול מחדש ויחזיר את ההרמוניה לביתו, במקום לתת לגט.
מכתב קדום זה נכתב תקופה קצרה אחר הגעתו של הרב אברמסקי מרוסיה ללונדון, בעת שכיהן כרב בקהילת מחזיקי הדת בלונדון, טרם נתמנה להבית הדין של לונדון.
ר’ יחזקאל אברמסקי (תרמ”ו-תשל”ו 1886-1976) למד בישיבות טעלז, מיר וסלבודקא וכן אצל ר’ חיים מבריסק. הוא התפרסם ברחבי העולם כגאון ושימש כרב בסלוצק וכרב אב בית דין בלונדון. לימים הוא התיישב בארץ ישראל ועמד בראש ישיבת סלבודקא בבני ברק. מחבר ספר חזון יחזקאל על התוספתא.
