R. Eliyahu Schapiro (1660-1712), was born in Prague and in his youth studied in Kalisch, under the Magen Avrohom. He served as Rav in Kollin and Tiktin, and then as Rosh Yeshiva in Prague. Renowned for his greatness in Torah, his seforim were received to tremendous acclaim.
Throughout the Sefer are over a hundred glosses, many of them lengthy, seemingly from the Beis Midrash of the Noda B’Yehuda in Prague. Some glosses partially cut.

ר’ אליהו שפירא (ת”כ-תע”ח 1660-1712), נולד בפראג ובצעירותו למד בקאליש, אצל המגן אברהם. הוא כיהן כרב בערים קולין וטיקטין ולאחר מכן כראש ישיבה בפראג. נודע בגדלותו בתורה וספריו התקבלו באהדה מרובה.
לאורך הספר מופיעות למעלה ממאה הגהות, רבות מהן ארוכות, לכאורה מבית המדרש של הנודע ביהודה בפראג. חלק מההגהות חתוכות קצת.
