Autograph postcard from R. Shlomke Berman and R. Chaim Friedlander whilst they were both students of the Ponevezh yeshiva, addressed to the editors of the Ha’Tvunah Torah Journal requesting copies.
R. Mordechai Shloime (Shlomke) Berman (1930-2005) was considered among the most distinguished early students of the Ponevezh Yeshiva and enjoyed a close relationship with the Chazon Ish who suggested him as a match for his niece, the daughter of R. Yisroel Yaakov Kanievsky (the Steipler). At A young age he was appointed A Rosh Yeshiva of the Ponevezh Yeshiva. He authored the sefer Asher L’ShloImeh on various tractates of Shas.
R. Chaim Friedlander (1923-1986) studied at the Ponevezh Yeshiva and enjoyed a close relationship with the Mashgiach, R. Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler. In the 1970s he was appointed a Mashgiach of the Ponevezh Yeshiva.

גלויה אוטוגרפית מר’ שלומ’קה ברמן ור’ חיים פרידלנדר בעודם לומדים בישיבת פונובז’, ממוענת לעורכי הביטאון התורני “התבונה”, לצורך בקשת עותקים.
ר’ מרדכי שלמה (שלומ’קה) ברמן (תר”צ-תשס”ה 1930-2005) נחשב לאחד התלמידים המוקדמים והנכבדים ביותר בישיבת פונובז’ ונהנה מקשר קרוב עם החזון איש שהציע אותו כשידוך לאחייניתו, בתו של ר’ ישראל יעקב קנייבסקי (הסטייפלר). הוא התמנה לראש ישיבת פונובז’ בגיל צעיר וכתב את הספר “אשר לשלמה” על מסכתות שונות בש”ס.
ר’ חיים פרידלנדר (תרפ”ג-תשמ”ו 1923-1986) למד בישיבת פונובז’ ונהנה מקשר קרוב עם המשגיח, ר’ אליהו אליעזר דסלר. בשנות התש”ל (1970) הוא התמנה למשגיח בישיבת פונובז’.
