Mishna Torah of the RaMBaM volume 2 (Noshim & Kedusha) personal copy of R. Yosef Dov Ha’Levy Soloveitchik (Bais Ha’Levy). With his stamp reading “Yosef Duber Ha’Levy Soloveitchik Brisk D’Litah”. On page 224 there appears a small correction to a reference made in the Mishna L’Melech, seemingly in the Bais Halevy’s handwriting.
R. Yosef Dov (Yoshe Ber) Soloveitchik (1820-1892), was a great grandson of R. Chaim Volozhiner. Known as an extraordinarily brilliant child, he learned in the great Yeshiva of Volozhin. He also spent some time in Brod where he studied with R. Shlomo Kluger. In 1854, he was appointed as Rosh Yeshiva in Volozhin, where he served until 1865, whereupon he was appointed to become Rav in Slutzk. Amongst his disciples from that period were R. Yosef Rosen, the Rogatchover Gaon (who studied with his son R. Chaim) and R. Zalman Sender Shapiro. He fiercely opposed the Reform movement and eventually, as a result of the activities of the Maskilim, he left Slutzk and moved to Warsaw. When the Rav of Brisk, R. Yehoshua Leib Diskin, left for Eretz Yisroel in 1877, the Beis Ha’Levy succeeded him as Rav. He led the community of Brisk until his passing, when he was succeeded by his son R. Chaim, who in turn was succeeded by his son R. Velvel and until today the name Soloveitchik remains synonymous with “Brisk”.
In addition to belonging to the Bais Ha’Levy it is likely that this RaMBaM was used by R. Chaim Brisker.

משנה תורה להרמב”ם כרך ב’ (נשים וקדושה). עותק אישי של ר’ יוסף דוב הלוי סולובייצ’יק, “בית הלוי”. עם חותמתו בזו הלשון: “יוסף דובער הלוי סולובייצ’יק בריסק דליטא”. בעמוד 224 מופיע תיקון קטן לאזכור ב”משנה למלך”, לכאורה בכתב היד של הבית הלוי.
ר’ יוסף דוב (יושע בער) סולובייצ’יק (תק”פ-תרנ”ב 1820-1892) היה נינו של ר’ חיים מוולוז’ין. עוד משחר ילדותו הוא התפרסם כנער יוצא דופן בגאונותו. הוא למד בישיבה הגדולה בוולוז’ין, ובנוסף למד בברוד במשך תקופה עם ר’ שלמה קלוגר. הוא התמנה בתרי”ד (1854) לראש ישיבת וולוז’ין וכיהן במקום עד שנת תרכ”ה (1865), אז התמנה לרב בסלוצק. בנוסף לתפקידיו הרבניים בסלוצק, הוא היה מעורב ביותר בחינוך הנוער המקומי. בין תלמידיו מתקופה זו נמנים ר’ יוסף רוזן, הגאון מרוגצ’וב (שלמד עם בנו ר’ חיים) ור’ זלמן סנדר שפירא. הוא התנגד חריפות לתנועה הרפורמית, ועם הזמן עזב את סלוצק בשל השפעת המשכילים ועבר לווארשא. כשרבה של בריסק, ר’ יהושע לייב דיסקין, עלה לארץ ישראל בשנת תרל”ז (1877), ה”בית הלוי” מילא את מקומו כרב. הוא הנהיג את קהילת בריסק עד לפטירתו, ובנו ר’ חיים מילא את מקומו. לאחר פטירתו של ר’ חיים, בנו ועלוועל המשיך בדרכו. עד היום, משפחת סולובייצ’יק נחשבת מילה נרדפת ל”בריסק”.
בנוסף ל”בית הלוי”, סביר להניח שרמב”ם זה שימש את ר’ חיים בריסקר.
