R. Moshe Teitelbaum (1759 -1841), known as the Yismach Moshe, was the Rav of Ujhel in Hungary. Though initially opposed to Chasidus, after his son-in-law introduced him to the Chozeh of Lublin, he soon became an ardent Chassid. He first served as Rav in Przemyśl and later in Ujhel. Greatly revered as a tremendous Talmid Chochom and Tzaddik, he was instrumental in bringing Chassidus to Hungary.

ר’ משה טייטלבוים (תקי”ט-תר”א 1759-1841), ה”ישמח משה”, היה רב באוהעל שבהונגריה. תלמיד מובהק של החוזה מלובלין והביא את החסידות להונגריה. על אף התנגדותו הראשונית לחסידות, לאחר שחתנו הכיר לו את החוזה מלובלין הפך לחסיד נלהב. שאלות נשלחו אליו מקהילות יהודיות רבות, ותשובותיו הודפסו לאחר פטירתו בספר “השיב משה”.
