R. Pinchos of Plotzk, (d. 1823), known as the Plotzker Maggid, was renowned as an influential Maggid. During a sojourn in Vilna he met the Vilna Gaon who invited him to serve as a private teacher to the Gaon’s grandchildren. Consequently, he joined the inner circle of the Talmidei Ha’Gra and quotes the Gaon numerous times in his works, referring to him as his mentor.

ר’ פנחס מפלוצק (נפטר בתקפ”ג-1823), המוכר בכינויו “המגיד מפלוצק”, התפרסם כמגיד בעל השפעה. במהלך שהיה בווילנא הוא פגש את הגאון מווילנא שהזמין אותו לשמש מלמד פרטי לנכדיו. בעקבות כך הוא הצטרף למעגל הפנימי של תלמידי הגר”א. הוא מצטט את הגאון פעמים רבות בחיבורו ומתייחס אליו כרבו.
