Manuscript of Chasidic discourse “Ma’amar”.
Commentary on the Zohar by R. Dov Ber Schneerson, the “Mittler Rebbe” of Chabad.
Following the passing of the Ba’al Hatanya in 1813, a split occurred with some Chassidim accepting his son R. Dov Ber as Rebbe “Mittler Rebbe” and others accepting R. Aaron Halevy Horowitz of Strelishe (1766-1828) “the Strelishe”. The two great leaders differed primarily in their understanding of the Ba’al Hatanya’s doctrine as to the preferred way of Divine service. This sefer with a lengthy title page describing how the “Alter Rebbe” designated his son the “Mittler Rebbe” to transcribe his teachings on the Zohar was published by the Mittler Rebbe’s Chassidim.
With a manuscript bound into the sefer written in an unidentified handwriting seemingly of a Ma’amar.

עם פטירת בעל התניא בשנת תקע”ג (1813), התחלקה חסידים לשני זרמים, כאשר כל אחד מהם רואה ברבו את הממשיך הנכון לדרך רבם. החלק האחד הלך עם בנו, ר’ דב בער ה”מיטלע רבי”, והחלק השני קיבל עליו את ר’ אהרון הלוי הורביץ מסטרליש (תקכ”ו- תקפ”ח, 1766-1828) ה”סטרלישער”. שני המנהיגים הגדולים היו חלוקים בדעתם בהבנת דרך בעל התניא בעבודת ה’. ספר זה, עם עמוד השער הארוך שבו המפרט כיצד מינה בעל התניא את בנו לכתוב החידושים על הזוהר, יצא לאור על ידי חסידי ה”מיטלע רבי”.
עם כתב יד כרוך לתוך הספר בכתב בלתי מזוהה, ככל הנראה של מאמר.
