With an important historical introduction. The author originated from Vladimir, Volhynia. As a result of calamities that befell his native Poland, he was forced to flee to Constantinople, while his children were tragically taken into captivity. He mentions the Khmelnitsky Uprising of 1648-9 (Tach V’Tat) and the massacres of entire Jewish communities. Appended to the book is a eulogy for the martyred Jews of Poland in which he describes various atrocities committed.

עם הקדמה היסטורית חשובה. מוצאו של המחבר מוולדימיר, וולוניה, אולם בעקבות פרעות שאירעו בהולדתו פולין, נאלץ לברוח לקושטא, בעוד ילדיו נלקחו באכזריות בשבי. הוא מזכיר את מרד חמילנצקי (פרעות ת”ח ות”ט) ואת מסירות נפשם של קהילות יהודיות שלמות. אל סוף הספר מצורף הספד ליהודי פולין שנעקדו על קידוש ה’, בו הוא מתאר מזוועות התקופה.
