Rare jubilee book in honor of R. Meir Shapiro upon the completion of twenty years of his illustrious career as Rav in Galina, Sanock, Pietrikow and Lublin, as well as founder of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. Following the title page is a portrait of R. Meir Shapiro. Also included are glossy photographs of the Yeshiva students, the Yeshiva building, the corner laying ceremony as well as an extensive overview of his life and chapters on the various stages in the establishment of the Yeshiva.
R. Meir Shapiro (1887-1933), was known as a child prodigy and referred to as the Illui of Shotz. He served as Rav of Galina, Sanock, Pietrekow and finally Lublin. He founded Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, which became the flagship Yeshiva of Poland and initiated the Daf Ha’Yomi program which is followed by tens of thousands to this day.

ספר יובל נדיר שיצא לכבוד ר’ מאיר שפירא לרגל מלאות עשרים שנה לכהונתו המפוארת כרב בגלינה, סאנוק, פייטריקוב, לובלין וכן כמייסד ישיבת חכמי לובלין. אחרי עמוד השער מופיע דיוקן של ר’ מאיר שפירא. כמו כן מופיעים תצלומים מבריקים של תלמידי הישיבה, בניין הישיבה, טקס הנחת אבן הפינה וכן סקירה נרחבת על חייו ופרקים על השלבים השונים בהקמת הישיבה.
ר’ מאיר שפירא (תרמ”ז – תרצ”ג, 1887-1933), התפרסם כבר מהיותו ילד בכישוריו הפלאיים וכונה בפי כל “העילוי משאץ”. הוא כיהן כרב בגלינא, סאנוק, פיעטרקוב, ולבסוף בלובלין. הוא ייסד את ישיבת חכמי לובלין שהפכה ברבות הזמן לישיבת הדגל בפולין. הוא הגה את רעיון הדף היומי, בו לומדים עשרות אלפים עד ימינו.
