R. Yair Chaim Bachrach (1638-1701), was descended from a rabbinical family and succeeded his father and grandfather as Rav and Av Beis Din of Worms. He was one of the foremost Torah leaders of his times. Widely respected as a tremendous Talmid Chochom, his novella display a remarkable proficiency in Talmudic and Halachic seforim, and are quoted extensively by the later Poskim.
