Autograph “Moreinu” award presented to an outstanding student on the occasion of his marriage. It was common practice in the Hungarian Yeshivas for exceptional students to be awarded this title by their Rav/Rosh Yeshiva, often on the occasion of their marriage. R. Nessanel Ha’Cohen Freid (1858-1917) was known from a young age as great genius and masmid, who studied under R. Avrohom Yehuda Schwartz of Mad (Kol Aryeh) and R. Chaim Tzvi Monheimer. He served as Rav in Ovi-Varash. Held in great esteem, he was one the leading rabbinical figures in Hungary. Author of the sefer Pnei Maven. On rabbinical letterhead. Fair condition, slightly torn along folds, restored with tape. 14 by 20 cm.
