Authored by Rev. Gershon Kish as a Parody on the era of Prohibition. Although the sale of sacramental wine was permitted, only four rabbinical authorities were approved. This led to competition for membership, since the supervision of sacramental licenses could be used to secure donations to support a religious institution. There were known abuses in this system, with imposters or unauthorized agents using loopholes to manufacture and purchase wine.
For hundreds of years, persecution and difficult living conditions, coupled with Talmudic minds often cultivated a wry and sometimes satirical sense of humor. Frequently these publications reflect the times during which they were written, with cryptic references to current events.

מאת גרשון קיש כפרודיה על תקופת היובש. למרות ההיתר למכור יין לצרכי דת, רק ארבע סמכויות רבניות אושרו לצורך כך. הדבר גרם לתחרות על זהותן של סמכויות אלו, משום שניתן היה להשתמש בפיקוח על אישורים לצרכי דת כדי להשיג תרומות לתמיכה במוסדות דתיים. רבים ניצלו את המערכת לרעה, ומתחזים וסוכנים לא מורשים ניצלו פרצות בחוק כדי לייצר ולקנות יין.
