R. Abba Chiya Hirsch (1821-1893), was a close talmid of the Chasam Sofer. Known as a great Talmid Chochom, from 1878 he served as Av Beis Din in Sered. The Shevet Sofer writes of him “and I heard his praise and acclaim from my father, Maor Ha’Golah (Ksav Sofer), who knew him during the time that he learned and stood between the walls of the great Beis Midrash of the Chasam Sofer…”
R. Dovid Vaselli (1868-1942) was a distinguished talmid of the Shevet Sofer. He was the son in law of R. Abba Chiya Hirsch (Rav of Sered) whom he succeeded as Rav of Sered. In 1920 he was appointed to the prestigious position as Rosh Bais Din in Pressburg, where he served the Kehilla until his passing in 1942.

ר’ אבא חייא הירש (תקפ”א- תרנ”ג, 1821-1893), היה תלמיד מקורב להחתם סופר. נודע כתלמיד חכם עצום והחל משנת תרל”ח 1878 שימש כראש אב בית דין בסערד. בעל השבט סופר כותב עליו “ושמעתי שבחו ותהלתו יוצאת מאת קדושת אאמ”ו מאוה”ג (כתב סופר) כי היה ממכיריו ומיודעיו עוד בעת שלמד ועמד בין כותלי בית מדרשו הגדול של כבוד קדושת זקיני מאוה”ג בעל חת”ס ויצק מים על ידיו”.
ר’ דוד וועסעלי (תרכ”ח-תש”ב 1868-1942) היה מנכבדי תלמידיו של השבט סופר. הוא היה חתנו וממלא מקומו של ר’ אבא חייא הירש (רבה של סערעד). בשנת תר”פ (1920) הוא התמנה למשרה הרמה של ראש בית הדין בפרשבורג, שם הנהיג את הקהילה עד פטירתו בתש”ב (1942).
