The Knesses Yisroel Slabodka Yeshiva was established in 1881 by the Alter of Slabodka, R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel (1849-1927). Under the leadership of both the Alter and the Rosh Yeshiva, R. Moshe Mordechai Epstein, it quickly became one of the most prestigious Yeshivos in Europe. Distinguished alumni include R. Aaron Kotler, R. Reuven Grozovsky, R. Yaakov Kamenetsky, R. Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, R. Yitzchok Hutner and R. Elazar Shach.

חוברת נדירה ביותר שיצאה לרגל חנוכת הבית לבניין ישיבת סלבודקא החדש. עם מכתבי פתיחה מהדבר אברהם ור’ אייזיק שר, וכן תמונות נדירות. עם חלק קטן באנגלית המתאר את יעודה של הישיבה.
ישיבת כנסת ישראל סלבודקא נוסדה בשנת תרמ”א (1881) על ידי ר’ נתן צבי פינקל – הסבא מסלבודקא (תר”ט-תרפ”ז 1849-1927), תלמיד ר’ שמחה זיסל זיו – הסבא מקלם. תחת הנהגתם של ראש הישיבה ר’ משה מרדכי אפשטיין והסבא מסלבודקא, הפכה הישיבה עד מהרה לאחת הישיבות הנחשבות ביותר באירופה. בין בוגרי הישיבה נמנים: ר’ אהרן קוטלר, ר’ ראובן גרוזובסקי, ר’ יעקב קמנצקי, ר’ יעקב יצחק רודרמן, ר’ יצחק הוטנר ור’ אלעזר שך.
