An important work of the teachings of R. Aaron Halevy Horowitz of Strelishe. The Rav Ruderman copy. Rabbi Aaron Halevy Horowitz (1766-1828), also known simply as the Strelishe, was considered one of the most eminent of the students of the Ba’al Hatanya, with whom he studied privately together with the Mittler Rebbe. Following the passing of the Ba’al Hatanya in 1813, a significant portion of the Chabad Chasidim appointed him as their Rebbe while the others became Chasidim of the Mittler Rebbe. The two great leaders differed primarily in their understanding of the Ba’al Hatanya’s doctrine as to the preferred way to Divine service. The Strelishe published his Sha’arei Avoda in which he set forth his views, and the Mittler Rebbe countered with his own work Kuntrus Ha’Hispalus, published in 1831. Stefansky 589, Vinograd Shklov 209. Azriel Zelig Ben Yaakov press. 1, 2, 13, 1-12, 17-49, 52, 70, 60, 22 pages. 17cm. Printed on fine blue paper. Fair condition some small tears and stains.
