Autograph letter to R. Eliezer (Lazer) Silver. With fascinating personal details about the publication of R. Ferber’s seforim. It continues with an extremely strongly worded protest against the initiator of the proposed “Reestablishment” of the Sanhedrin in Israel, and particularly the disrespect for The Brisker Rav, The Chazon Ish and R. Bengis. He urges R. Silver that the Agudas HaRabonim should publish a protest against this blatant disrespect of Gedolei Torah. Written in an unusably acerbic style.
R. Tzvi Hirsch Ferber (1879-1966), was born in Kovno and learned in the Slabodka Yeshiva, as well as under R. Yitzchok Elchanan Spektor, R. Itzele Blazer and R. Naftali Amsterdam. In 1911, he immigrated to Manchester, England where he headed the Yeshiva along with R. Yehoshua Silverstone. In 1913, R. Tzvi Hirsch accepted the call to become the Rav of the West End Talmud Torah in London. Renowned as a great Talmid Chochom, gifted orator and a prolific author of over 22 seforim.

מכתב אוטוגרפי שנשלח לר’ אליעזר (לייזר) סילבר. עם פרטים אישיים מדהימים על הדפסתם של ספרי ר’ פרבר. הרב ממשיך לכתוב בחריפות נגד יוזם הרעיון המציע את “הקמתה מחדש” של הסנהדרין בארץ ישראל, תוך רמיסת כבודם של הבריסקער רב, החזון איש והר’ בנגיס. הוא מפציר בר’ סילבר שאגודת הרבנים תפרסם את מחאתה נגד הזלזול הבוטה בכבודם של גדולי התורה. כתוב בהתנסחות חריפה בלתי אופיינית.
ר’ צבי הירש פרבר (תרל”ט-תשכ”ו) נולד בקובנה שבליטא ונתגדל על ברכם של גדולי הדור, ביניהם: ר’ יצחק אלחנן ספקטור, ר’ יצחק בלאזר ור’ נפתלי אמסטרדם. בשנת תרע”א 1911, אחר שנות לימודיו בישיבת סלבודקא, היגר למנצ’סטר שבאנגליה, ושם יסד ישיבה גדולה יחד עם ר’ יהושע סילברסטון. בשנת תרע”ג 1913 נענה לעתירת בעלי הבתים לקבל על עצמו משרת רבנות בק”ק ‘ועסט ענד ת”ת’ שבלונדון הבירה. ר’ פרבר היה ידוע כת”ח מובהק ודרשן נפלא. הוא גם כתב עשרות ספרים חשובים.
