R. Yitzchak Issac Chaver (1787-1852), was one of the most prominent talmidim of R. Menachem Mendel of Shklov who in turn was one of the most prominent talmidim of the Gaon. As such, he was one of the most reliable sources of the teachings of the Gaon. He served as Rav in numerous distinguished communities in Lithuania, including Pruzhana, Tiktin and Suvalk.
