Novella on tractate Nazir, authored by R. Yitzchok Hutner. A classic of Torah scholarship, R. Hutner authored this work as young man, to great acclaim.
With enthusiastic approbations of R. Chaim Ozer Grodensky, R. A.Y. Kook and R. A.D. Shapiro (author of D’var Avrohom). In later editions the approbation from R. Kook and the D’var Avrohom were removed, seemingly for ideological reasons. On the final page there appears a short note which makes reference to a second volume to be published, which also does not appear in later editions.
Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner (1906-1980) was a great original thinker and one of the most prominent American Roshei Yeshiva of the 20th century. Born in Warsaw, he studied first in Slabodka and later in Chevron. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1935 and eventually became the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. In this capacity he educated generations of students and wielded a great influence on Orthodox Jewry worldwide.
