Autograph letter by R. Dovid Feinstein (in the lifetime of his father R. Moshe) thanking a donor for his donation for the Kollel. He continues that “with regard to saying “Ha’Nosen Teshua” (Prayer for the government), here in Yeshiva (MTJ) we still say it and we will probably continue saying it until the “sakana” (danger) to Nixon passes. Although this letter is not dated, it would seem that this was written during the Watergate scandal. President Nixon was generally considered as “good for the Jews”, hence apparently it was appropriate to continue reciting the prayer for his welfare, as long as he was President.

תשובה בכתב ידו של ר’ דוד פיינשטיין שנשלחה בחייו של אביו הגדול, ר’ משה פיינשטיין. במכתב, מודה לנדיב על תרומתו לכולל האברכים. בהמשך כותב, “בנוגע לשאלה האם לומר ‘הנותן תשועה’ (תפילה לשלום הממשלה), כאן בישיבה אומרים אותה עדיין ומסתמא יאמרנה עד שיעבור הסכנה של ניקסון”. למרות שלא מופיע תאריך על גבי המכתב, נראה שהוא נכתב בתקופת פרשת ווטרגייט. מאחר שהנשיא ניקסון היה נחשב “טוב ליהודים” באופן כללי, כנראה היה ראוי להמשיך להתפלל להצלחתו, כל עוד היה נשיא.
