Important collection of halachic responsa by R. Shmuel Kelai.
R. Shmuel Kelai (c. 1505-1585), was a disciple of R. Chiya Meir of Italy and R. Dovid Ha’Cohen of Corfu (RaDa”CH). He was a son-in-law of R. Binyomin Ben Mattisyohu, author of sefer Binyomin Ze’ev. He served as Rov in various important communities in Italy and was one of the greatest Halachic decisors of his era. In addition to this sefer, some on his responsa are printed in the sefer Binyomin Zev (Venice 1539).

ר’ שמואל קלעי (סביבות רס”ה-שמ”ה 1505-1585) היה תלמידם של ר’ חייא מאיר מאיטליה ור’ דוד הכהן מקורפו (רד”ך) וחתנו של ר’ בנימין בן מתתיהו, מחבר ספר “בנימין זאב”. הוא שימש כרב במספר קהילות חשובות באיטליה והיה אחד מפוסקי ההלכה הגדולים בתקופתו. מלבד ספר זה, חלק מהתשובות שלו מודפסות בספר “בנימין זאב” (וינציאה רצ”ט-1539).
