R. Moshe Tzvi Twersky (1890-1972), was a son of R. Dovid Mordechai Twersky of Tolna, who immigrated to New York in 1913 from Russia. He was one of the first Rebbes to settle in America and the arrival of the “Tolna Tzaddik” was of such significance that it was reported in the New York Times. R. Moshe Tzvi Twersky settled in Philadelphia and was known as the Tolna-Philadelphia Rebbe. He led a Shul “Tzemach Dovid” and invested tremendous efforts in strengthening Yiddishkeit in the area.

ר’ משה צבי טווערסקי (תר”נ- תרפ”ז, 1890-1927), היה בנו של ר’ דוד מרדכי מטולנא, שהיגר מרוסיה לניו יורק בשנת תרע”ג (1913). היה מראשוני האדמו”רים שקבעו את מושבם באמריקה, עד כדי כך שהגעת ה”טולנא צדיק” תועדה אפילו בניו יורק טיימס. ר’ משה צבי טווערסקי התיישב בפילדלפיה והתפרסם כאדמו”ר מטולנא- פילדלפיה. עמד בראש בית הכנסת צמח דוד והשקיע מאמצים רבים בחיזוק וביצור היהדות במקום.
