R. Yechezkel Lipshitz (1864-1932), was born in Reisen and learned in the Talmud Torah of Kelm. He served as Rav in Yurburg, Boisk (where he was succeeded by R. Kook), Warsaw, Plotzk and finally in Kalisch, where he served until his passing. He also served in the prestigious position of head of the Agudas Ha’Rabonim in Poland. He was best known for his classic sefer HaMidrash V’HaMa’aseh.

ר’ יחזקאל ליפשיץ (תרכ”ד- תרצ”ב, 1864-1932), נולד ברייסן ולמד בתלמוד תורה של קאלם. שימש כרב ביורבארקס, בויסק (בה כיהן אחריו הרב קוק), ורשה, פלוצק ולבסוף בקאליש, בה כיהן עד לפטירתו. כמו כן שימש בתפקיד המכובד כראש אגודת הרבים בפולין. הוא נודע בעיקר בזכות ספר המיוחד המדרש והמעשה.
