This sefer cites many Divrei Torah that the author heard from his teacher, R. Avrohom Yehoshua Heschel of Apta (Ohev Yisrael). He also cites many sayings of the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid of Mezritch, the founders of Chassidus. The publisher notes in his introduction that when he showed the manuscript of this sefer to R. Dovid Moshe of Chortkov it found great favor in his eyes and he declared that upon its publication he would be the first to purchase the sefer.

בספר כתובים דברי תורה רבים ששמע מרבו, ר’ אברהם יהושע העשיל מאפטא (אוהב ישראל). וכן מהבעל שם טוב והמגיד ממעזריטש, מייסדי החסידות. המו”ל מציין בהקדמתו כי כאשר הראה את כתב היד של הספר לר’ דוד משה מטשורטקוב, הוא מצא חן בעיניו והצהיר כי עם הדפסתו הוא יהיה הראשון שירכוש את הספר.
