R. Moshe Zacuto (1625-1697), was renowned as a great Talmid Chochom as well as a Kabbalist. Originally from Amsterdam, he attempted to journey to Eretz Yisroel via Italy. Whilst in Italy he was appointed as Rav in Venice and later in Montova. He edited the Zohar Chodosh for publication in 1658, and also wrote many poems for celebrations and special occasions.

ר’ משה זכות (שפ”ה-תנ”ז 1625-1697) נודע כתלמיד חכם עצום ומקובל. נולד באמסטרדם וניסה לנסוע לארץ ישראל דרך איטליה. בהיותו באיטליה הוא התמנה לרב בוויניציאה ומאוחר יותר במונטובה. ערך לדפוס את הספר זוהר החדש (תי”ח 1658), וכן כתב פיוטים רבים לחגים וימים טובים.
