R. Yehuda Rozsanis (1657-1727), was born in Constantinople and was one of the greatest rabbinical leaders of his era. Held in enormous regard, the Chida refers to him as “HaRav Tana”. He was also one of the fiercest and most outspoken opponents of the Shabtai Tzvi movement.

ר’ יהודה רוזניס (תי”ז – תפ”ז, 1657-1727), נולד בקושטא ושימש כאחד המנהיגים הרבניים הגדולים ביותר בתקופתו. מתוך הערכה עצומה, מכנה אותו החיד”א “הרב התנא”. הוא גם היה אחד המתנגדים הגלויים והאדירים ביותר לתנועת שבתאי צבי.
