Typed signed letter, on letterhead of the Agudas Yisroel, dated 1935. Written to R. Moshe Blau of Agudas Yisroel in Yerusholayim, to obtain a yeshiva student certificate of immigration to Palestine on behalf of a student in danger. The letter refers in Hebrew to the “well-known danger” but does not elaborate; presumably referring to the military draft. R. Levin concludes his request by stating that R. Elchonon Wasserman, a leader of the Polish Agudah is very concerned that this matter should be resolved properly.
R. Pinya Levin was a son of R. Henoch Levin (Bendiner Rav) and a grandson of the Sfas Emes. He was actively involved the leadership of the Agudas Yisroel in Poland as well as the Bais Yaakov movement.

מכתב מוקלד וחתום על נייר מכתבים של אגודת ישראל, מתוארך לשנת תרצ”ה (1935). ממוען לר’ משה בלוי מאגודת ישראל בירושלים, לצורך הסדרת תעודת הגירה לפלשתינה עבור תלמיד ישיבה בסכנה. המכתב מתייחס בעברית ל”סכנה הידועה” אך אינו מפרט; סביר להניח שמדובר בגיוס הצבאי. הרב לוין מסיים את בקשתו בהצהרה שרבי אלחנן וסרמן, מנהיג אגודת ישראל בפולין, מוטרד מאוד מהסדרת עניין זה כראוי.
ר’ פיניה לוין היה בנו של ר’ העניך לוין (הרב מבעדין) ונכדו של השפת אמת. הוא היה מעורב פעיל בהנהגת אגודת ישראל בפולין ובתנועת בית יעקב.
