With approbations by R. Yitzchak Issac Ha’Cohen Rav of Koritz and Ostrog and R. Yosef Maggid of Ostrog.
Although with the advent of the printing press many seforim were printed on a great variety of topics, for many years Sifrei Kabolah continued to be handwritten. This was primarily as a means to ensure they would not fall into unworthy hands. It was not until much later that Sifrei Kabolah were printed. This Sefer Eitz Chaim is one of earlier printed Sifrei Kabolah.

לאחר המצאת הדפוס הודפסו ספרים רבים במגוון רחב של תחומים, אך באופן מסורתי, ספרי קבלה נכתבו בכתב יד במשך שנים רבות. המטרה העיקרית הייתה לוודא שהם לא ייפלו לידיים בלתי ראויות. הדפסת ספרי קבלה התחילה רק במועד מאוחר יותר. ספר “עץ חיים” הוא אחד מספרי הקבלה הראשונים שיצאו לאור.
